One Month Weigh In

Its been a month!  A long month of eating less and better and working off those unnecessary butt inches that follow me around everywhere I go.  One month is a big deal for a lot of reasons.  One it is said that it takes three to four weeks to create a new habit.  This means that I have made it through the conditioning phase of my eat right and exercise plan!  Is it any easier... actually yeah.  The counting calories is definitely more natural and automatic and even though I'm not a math wiz its working for me!  Exercising... still doing it!  This is the longest period of time in my entire life (no joke) that I have stuck with any kind of exercise program (this of course does not include the morning get out of bed sit-up, or the morning walk to the bathroom, leg shaving lunge, or stairmaster time to and from the apartment).  I'm actually a little impressed with myself.  I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about!

Tried to get Gidget's Cardio Routine on video last night but
this pup is one camera shy work out buddy!
In a month I have gone from seeking the instant gratification three bites of a swiss cake roll can give me to the instant gratification of self-pride when I make the healthy choice!  Not to mention I love that feeling of saying no when someone offers me something I know I shouldn't have and they go, "Wow, you are so disciplined!  I wish I was that disciplined!!"  When really what I want to do is grab the cookie out of there hand and munch on it like the cookie monster while snatching the rest of them off the cookie sheet, hide in the corner and scarf them down while casting paranoid glances around the room like I have some kind of diet PTSD.  No my eyes aren't twitchy... the smell of cookie in the air just dries them out...

Anyway.... Moving on!  Yay for me I did P90X Legs and Back last night and though I think I came close to passing out twice and had to use my husband as a brace at one point I did the best I have ever done!!  BRING IT YOU SNEAKY LUNGES!!!!   I upped my weight on the resistance bands and completed more reps than before in the other categories.  I blame my breaks and having to use my husband to remain upright as the price for not having worked out in a week... (remember do as I say NOT as I do :)  I have however made sure that even though I haven't worked out I maintained my 1000 calorie a day deficit in order to keep up with my goal of losing 2lbs a week.

After working out last night I had Kennith take my 1-month photos but I'm pretty sure I should have had him take them in the morning cause I swear I look better when I first wake up (not the area above my collar bone just the rest of me).  Its like after using my muscles for an hour they pretty much said, "Pictures?  Really?  Fine but I'm not holding it together!  The sag is going to show!!!!  : P "  So I'm not so happy with the pics but hopefully you can tell a difference!!  I also weighed in this morning and was pretty darn happy!

So how are you guys doing on the results end?  What is working for you? Any concerns you have about your workout or "diet" program?  My main concerns right now are honestly not eating enough calories and then my water intake.  Definitely need to improve on that!  I'm supposed to be eating about 1230 calories a day and have only been averaging 1000 so I'm hoping my body isn't being horrible and holding onto the fat thinking its starving.

Smart Body Buddy
You would think my body would be smarty and say, "HEY!!!  Check out the 55 extra pounds of flab we are having to haul around!!!  Hey joints!  Wouldn't you feel better if we eliminated some of the fluff???  Yeah?  Super we'll jump right on that!  Oh, and Sarah ~ thank you so much for not eating those extremely yummy but extremely fatty foods to such and extreme that we have to work quadruple over time to compensate for it!  As a bonus we'll cut an extra 15% body fat this month!!  Great working with you!  Keep up the good work!  Oh and hey just for old times sake... Enjoy that yummylicious meal from chick-fil-a and that huge slice of Tres Leches cake... we'll handle it free of charge!!!"   That is what I call teamwork!!!

Actual Body Buddy
Naturally however my body seems to be acting like a hormonal teenager instead... "What? So you decided all on your own without consulting me that you wanted to change the way things are done around here?  You want me to clean my room?  Get rid of all fat you call "garbage?"  Well guess what that is MY stuff and you can't make me!  I'll just hide it if you try to come in here and get rid of it while I'm not paying attention!  What do you know anyway?  You just want me to work harder AND take away my allowance at the same time!  I HATE YOU!!"  This is why bootcamp is good for rebellious bodies and teenagers :)
